Ruger 357/77

I'm wondering about the Ruger 77/357. Does the bolt lock on the front or the rear?

Rear. The bolt is a two-piece bolt with locking lugs on the rear piece.

I was looking at getting a .44/77 and the bolt does indeed lock in the rear and its very well machined.

Just saw one of the 44/77 a couple days ago. Beautiful little rifle . Didn't know there is a 357/44. If they were to chamber this in 256 Win. it would be my very next rifle. Ruger has history with the 256, their Hawkeye pistol was one of only two guns commercially chambered for it.
