Ruger #3 "Deluxe" version?

Ran across the .45-70 #3 advertised as a "Deluxe" model. Is this a legit factory gun? or a #3 with #1 wood added?

That's a #3 with #1 wood as you suspected. I'm not aware that the factory ever coined the term "Deluxe". I would guess that the term is "gun broker marketing".

The #1 has been available in higher grades from the factory, but they usually use special distributors such as Lipsy's to do the marketing and sales.
 
I agree with you...it does look good though.

FWIW: R.L Wilson's "Ruger and His Guns" make no mention of a "Deluxe" #3
 
Those were commonly referred to as a Ruger 'Number Two' by Ruger rifle buffs- about the only iteration of these guns that stirs my soul as a rifleman.
