Ruger 22/45 problem

I have a Ruger 22/45 pistol and I am having problems using CCI standard velocity rounds in it. It doesn't feed them reliably, they seem to hang uop in the magazine. Has anyone else had this problem or could you guys suggest a way to really clean the magazines good ?

CCI-SV has that waxy lube that they use very liberally. Gums up the mags in my 22/45 also. All I’ve done is wipe the wax glob out with a Q-Tip dipped in Hoppe’s. I don’t think I’ve ever had my 22/45 mags apart, just clean with a Q-Tip.

I have had failures to feed in my 22/45 due to dirty gummed up mags, clean them and try the ammo again. As far as cleaning the mags I use a wooden shishkebab skewer with a bit of cloth on the end dipped in hoppes.

Make double sure that the trigger pivot pin is inserted all the way through
to the hole in the right side of the frame.

It can slip out (to the left) if there is enough space in the grip where it covers
the pin.

What happens is the hammer gets twisted around a little bit sideways and
drags on the bolt.

A tell-tale check is to pull the bolt back and let it drop.
If it doesn't always go into battery smooth and quick this is probably the
problem.

after cleaning the mags would it be a good or bad idea to spray a little dry lube in them ? I have a can of Otis dry lube I was thinking about trying.

I use dry lube on lots of mags with no problems

All my mags get a quick spray of Rem Oil. It dries and leaves behind a teflon dry lube.
