Ruger 10-22

I like the black synthetic and stainless better than the wood & blued.
The wood models seem fatter, the synthetic feels much better.
I would not hesitate at all for one type of trigger upgrade or another.
Buy extra rotary mags or even consider the Ruger higher capacity mag with metal. Not some of the other, older, or cheaper versions in all plastic.

does it matter? the 10/22 carbine is availible in black synthetic and wood and both are $200 at walmart.

if you want it to look like a tommy gun and weigh as much as a full grown labrador retriever then you can spend $400 and get a thompson conversion for it

if all your gun buddies belittle you for not owning an AR15 you can spend $150 and get the archangel conversion stock for it.

if your commy wannabe friends say you need an SKS then there is a $150 tapco for it

if your heckler and koch snobs say you need to get a G36 then guess what, archangel has a $100 kit for that too

M14...well you get the picture...it doesn't matter which one you get because if you ever get bored with it then it is infinitely customizable.
