Rudi Giuliani

Anyone else here Shawn Hannity's radio show last night? Rudi Guliani was on taking calls. He was asked point blank about 2A. Claims to support it and agrees with the recent ruling about DC gun ban.

Do not trust Rudi.
I lived in NYC under his rule.
The man is pure liberal.
Think Bloomberg is bad about guns? Rudi is worse.
I love Florida

Talk is cheap, Actions speak louder than words.
Lets see some Action Rudy.

This is fron his web site.
Ir speaks for it's self.
"doesnt necessarily" Sounds like political hogwash to me

Second Amendment
Rudy Giuliani is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. When he was Mayor of a city suffering an average of almost 2000 murders a year, he protected people by getting illegal handguns out of the hands of criminals. As a result, shootings fell by 72% and the murder rate was cut by two-thirds. But Rudy understands that what works in New York doesn’t necessarily work in Mississippi or Montana.

Sorry Rudy your gonna need to do better than that if you want my vote.

Typical political double talk. I too lived in NY State, he has clearly demonstrated his true feelings. He is starting to remind me of "Fatty Kennedy"

I wouldn't believe Rudy if he told me that he was on his 3rd wife and that he never cheated on any of them, he will probably have a couple more wives before he drops dead.
I remember another guy that said read my lips, NO NEW TAXES, til he got in office.

I was told that Bloomy was quail hunting about 8 miles from me, that a city chopper flew him and others up, am trying to get facts rather than hear say. Quail hunting to those people means have the quail in cages and let one at a time go when the shooter is loaded and pointing the gun down the range, it gives the quail the same chance as a gun owner, little or none.

I'm sure Rudy believes he supports the Second, the same way Sarah Brady does. His idea of support is not the same as most of us here.

During his reign in NYC he did not allow the few CCW permit holders to renew, including folks who had a legitimate reason to carry. A few celebrities with connections are the only ones allowed to carry now.

Rudy disarmed thousands, many of whom now carry anyway. He makes criminals out of common folks who want to defend themselves.

Not to go too far OT, but 12 gauge, in black and white, you're dead on right. But in the realm of politics, Bush was threatened by Congress(Democratically ran at the time, IIRC) to completely shut down. He basically had no choice but to negotiate to keep the flow of other issues to be resolved.

Rudi?
For the first time in a long time, I completely disagree with Hannity. Republican party doesn't have any great candidates out there to speak of yet, but the election is too far away to jump on the bandwagon of a particular one. Namely, Rudi. I think New Yorkers know him much better than I do, but if he was truely pro 2A, law abiding citizens would be able to carry or the laws would at LEAST be more laxed by now. Plus his social issues screams too liberal for my taste.

Past associations could haunt Giuliani
The former Republican mayor of New York City won widespread praise for his handling of the Sept. 11 attacks, and it is largely that collective memory that accounts for his current popularity in polls and makes him the early front-runner for his party's nomination.

Yet as most New Yorkers could tell you, there are plenty of episodes in Giuliani's past that could come back to haunt him — scenes that played like a booming, angry opera.

"Rudy is a tough guy. Nobody has ever said he was Mr. Congeniality. It's not always pretty to look at, but he got the job done," said Rep. Peter King (news, bio, voting record), R-N.Y., who backed Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) in 2000 but now supports Giuliani.

So far, most of the major players in Giuliani's past public sagas have stayed silent, and that silence may be worth far more to him than any endorsement.

Skeleton No. 1 is his last police commissioner, Bernard Kerik, once nominated by President Bush to head the Homeland Security Department. Kerik's close association with Giuliani became radioactive when Kerik pleaded guilty last June to a misdemeanor of accepting a gift from a company seeking city work.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but out of the ones running for president, which one do you believe is the most supportive of the 2A?

Hillary or Rudy?

Should I just cut my wrists or take poison kind of choice.

It would be ironic for Rudy to elected as a Republican and sign a gun ban passed by Democrats. Good thing the House and Senate has some conservative Democrats in it. Imagine gun rights saved by some Democrats. LOL.

"I don't mean to hijack the thread, but out of the ones running for president, which one do you believe is the most supportive of the 2A?"

Sticking strictly to the 2A, I think Ron Paul's record sticks out in my mind. I haven't done enough research to claim he's the most supportive. But, seeing some of his viewpoints has me convinced that he's got to be up near the top...

It's a more solid stance than Rudi, I think.

Dem: Bill Richardson

Republicans:Ron Paul, Sam Brownback, Duncan Hunter, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee, Tom Tancredo, Chuck Hagel, Fred Dalton Thompson

Ron Paul is by far the most gun-friendly candidate. I also believe he's the best overall candidate. If the man had his way I think (from what I've read on and from him) he'd probably abolish the IRS, ATF, and many other government agencies, as well as pulling us out of foreign treaties and organizations like the UN, WTO, WHO, etc.

He's also not wavered (anywhere that I can find anyway) throughout his time in politics. He keeps standing up for what he believes in (see the bills he introduces every year about pulling out of the UN, restoring 2nd amendment, reducing or eliminating taxes), which is something VERY FEW politicians can truthfully claim.

That being said, Paul will probably not get anywhere near the momentum he needs to make it through the primary. The media won't cover him, nor will the talk shows (I've tried calling a few of the well-known ones and the screeners won't even put me on if I mention Ron Paul). Our best bet is probably going to be Fred Thompson, which is good for the 2A but not great for illegal immigration.

Overall Thompson is pretty good; MUCH better than those other liars (Rudy, Romney, McCain). Thompson has the recognition and the style to compete and win against Guliani in the primary, and the media acknowledgement to really get a groundswell going.

I would not mind a Thompson/Tancredo or Thompson/Paul ticket in the least. I would gladly give either combination my vote and be happy after doing so. This would be the only way we'd have any chance of someone like Paul or Tancredo getting the attention they need to get through the primary, let alone into office.

I'm sick and tired of voting for the lesser of the evils. I know politicians are inherently selfish, dishonest, and gernerally lousy people, but this is getting rediculous.

I'm on the Ron Paul bandwagon at present.

His stance is more solid because he takes positions based on actually reading the Constitution, not by moistening a finger and sticking it in the air.

mvpel,
That's the lousiest photoshop I've seen in quite a while, but I get the point.

I'm a big Paul supporter myself. Of all the candidates, he's the only one that's in full compliance with the Constitution.
