I picked up an old Generation II Glock Model 23 recently. It's bone stock and in good shape for its age. Online databases indicate it was made around September 1990; way before finger grooves, rails or LCI extractors.
I've learned to appreciate the Loaded Chamber Indicator extractor; but the absence of finger grooves and rails is exactly why I wanted this G23. This grip points far more naturally for me than the later guns.
I pounded plates with a couple of magazines to get a feel for the sights, then moved back to see where it was hitting at distance. Tula 180 was used throughout.
50 Yards. I also centered a spray-paint can at this distance & sent it rocketing over the logpile.
Heck I even ven got 4 of 5 on the plate from 100 yards and it was windy day.
I'd forgotten how much I like the older G23's and the 40 S&W cartridge, which shoots noticeably flatter than the 45 but still packs a wallop.
