Rubber Grip Sleave for Plastic Guns??

I am a new owner of an HK USP45f. This is my first polymer-frame gun. I am used to always having a good after market hogue or uncle mike grip on my pistols and this is my nit on these polymer frames.

Personally I think that these rubber sleaves look dorky, but I am willing to sacrifice aesthetics for a nicer feel...

Any experience out there? Do they make a full-sized .45cal USP too big to hold well? My hands arent overly large but enough to leave only thumb-width space on the well between my fingertips and palm.

Do they ever work loose?

Are they better to shoot?

Any feedback is appreciated!

I have had a Hogue Handall on my Ruger P95 for about 2 yrs now. It has improved my control. No, they do not work off. In fact, they are HE!! to get off if you need to take them off!!

Had one on my P97 for a year know and I agree, it's an improvement. The Ruger grips are generaly on the thin side so a hand-all makes them just right. I don't know how thick your grip is but that will be the decider. In the end they absorb recoil, give you a more tacky grip, and add finger grooves in the front for added control.

I have a USP 40 Compact with a hogue grip on it. Although it doesn't look natural, it makes a big difference in feel, while it conforms better to my hand as well, even better than before. I have looked everywhere for an after market grip for my USP, with no luck, until I went on a whim and tried this. What a difference. I hope this helps.....

I've heard good things about a wrap around
called Agrip. It used to be that you could find
out more at www.brookstactical.com, but I get an
error now. Anyway, you can ask around glocktalk
about it. A lot of people seem to prefer it to the
stock rubber sleeve type grips.

The Handalls work fine.

Heat one in boiling water before you try to pull it onto the grip. The heating will allow it to stretch more, and as it cools, it'll return to its original size.

I put a Hogue Handall on my USP9f.

It works wonders -- doesn't ride up as much, and the grip actually holds when I sweat!

Keep in mind that the gun won't fit in its factory box anymore -- the moulded plastic is just big enough to hold the gun without any extra finger grooves...

Just an excuse to buy a bigger, foam-padded case that'll fit earplugs. ;)

I've got a Hogue on a Glock 19 (new style grips). I like it a lot...fills my hand very nicely. It does make the grip feel a bit chunky...but it's good.
I also own an older Glock 17 with the stock grip.
It's a totally different feel, but the 19 with the Hogue feels more secure in the hand then the 17.
I won't be putting the Hogues on the 17, however.

A bike inner tube works well and doesn't add to the thickness. And you can sleeve about 10 guns for $5.99.

I use and recommend the Hogue grips. If you choose to use the Hogue, spray a little hairspray inside prior to installation. It'll dry pretty quickly, keeping the grip from moving around. The hairspray is water-soluble and can easily be cleaned up.

I just spray the inside of the grip sleeve with lubricant and it slips on pretty easily. Once the lubricant evaporates and takes a set the sleeve doesn't move....

Went to the local K-Mart and picked up a roll of "stick" tape for $2. Guess it's used for street hockey sticks, racket grips, etc. Anyway, it works great. I just wrap some around the grip. Also use a piece of it on the grip front of my Sig P220, which is smoother than a baby's butt there, and slips with sweaty hands. The tape works well for me. :)
