Is anyone familiar with the Rock River Arms Gov't-restricted AR-15 model? I'm thinking of going to a gas piston setup on mine and can do the work myself, but am concerned about how much of a pain it's going to be to remove the flash hider from the barrel. I've been reading that some AR's have the FH permanently attached (to extend the length of the barrel). I don't want to have to break that bond if that's what was used in this particular model. If it's strictly threaded on, that's a whole different story and won't be such a big deal.

I've also contacted RRA on this matter, but I figured the people of this board would probably respond much quicker. Thanks in advance for any help/info/advice you can give me on this project!

I am having the same problem, I was told that my upper was crushwashered, locktited and then pinned... don't know about the pinning but I am soaking the FH and end of barrel with MEK (methel-ethel-ketone) pardon the spelling ...to break any locktite.... it is a starting point my friend...
