Just went out to shoot my new USP 9 fullsize for the first time yesterday. Conditions were VERY cold(in mid-Michigan)but the gun seemed to work ok. Great accuracy! I had a couple of FTF's(mostly just an ejection problem and a stovepipe) that I attributed to the gun getting worn in and the cold. Shot about 300 rds through it. One enormous problem is that I got my last round of the day(it wouldn't have been given the choice) jammed in the barrel! I was using some cheap and very dirty Russian ammo, a few Blazers, and a few Federals. I tried to dislodge the obstruction in the field but to no avail. I finally got it out by pounding(very, very, carefully) a philips-head screwdriver through the barrel with a hammer. The round was stuck about 1 inch down the barrel from the bore. The only way I noticed it was that rounds from the mag wouldn't feed. The round that got stuck was one of the Russian ones. Now, was this a problem with the gun, the ammo, or the conditions? The barrel seems no worse for wear now upon close inspection. Anybody have this problem before? What were you shooting, ammo& gun model?
