A guy here at the office has one of these for sale:

Any experienced owners? My 9 year old daughter is the mark for this one; he only wants $100 for it. I had been eyeing one of the TC Youth models, but this seems better. I'm mostly interested in knowing how well they handle as compared to a cricket or others, and how well the sights work.

Sent from mobile. ... Forgive any typos. :-)

I bought one for my daughter when whe was just starting to shoot and hunt. It worked out OK and she dropped a few pheasants with it. In the end, it was a bit crude but usable.

I now use it when I teach hunter safety as some of the younger students can't handle anything much larger. In that use, the ejector for the 410 barrel has become inoperative under recoil. Works well after fixing it when no shot is fired, but once you add recoil to the equation, it fails again. And yes, I've fully cleaned it thinking it could be flakes of unburned powder precluding the spring operated ejector from working.

I've never been fully satisfied with it, but I'll keep it for the .22 RF barrel and the hunter safety classes.

My 10 YO son started with the same setup last year, except it has the walnut stock. He got bored with it real quick. Single shots are great in teaching the basics, but after loading a hundred rounds and pulling the trigger, it gets old fast. Keep in mind, you still can have her shot single shot with a "real" gun until she gets the hang of it.

He now has a Ruger 10/22 dropped in a Blackhawk Axiom stock with a red dot. The good thing about the Axiom is that it has a 6 position adjustable stock. It will grow with him. Heck, I still can use his rifle! Granted, his set up is a bit more than $100.

Thanks for the feedback y'all. I don't want to throw down a bunch of money on a rifle for her unless she takes a liking to this one. She'll have a blast either way... or not. :D

I hope that means you're going to buy it.

I bought one for my kids to learn to shoot on and they love it! In fact they loved it so much I had to go buy two more!

I paid just under $175 out the door for each of them. If you can get it for $100 the do it!
