I have a 35102 .38 snubby that I really like. Its very accurate and has been totally reliable, besides fitting my hand like it was custom made for me. I'm now looking at a 97206 in .357 mag. Anyone here have any direct experience with this revolver? Accuracy, finish, mechanics, breakages....

Rossi revolvers

Hi,

I have the 461-02, 357 magnum, 6- shot snub revolver.
It's a great revolver, I carry it often. Very reliable and accurate. I think the Rossi's are underrated and overlooked. I enjoy mine, and recommend them for a reliable, affordable revolver.

Take care.

I have a 92706. I like it. Accurate.fit and Finnish are good. Locks up tight. Haven't shot a lot of .357 but quite a few 38s. All in all its a good value in my opinion

I had the 357 snub few years back . I was shooting 357 and the rubber grip broke  I removed and grip has plastic inside A piece little over a inch in Diameter around grip screw broke out. I traded back to dealer . That was my 3 Rossi But 1st since Taurus got their hand on company.

I have a 97104 that I bought a few months ago. When I first got it I had some issues, mainly due to a very dry condition and general grittiness of the internals. Trigger pull was terrible, and I had problems with the cylinder bolt in that it would stick in its forward and back travel. To the point that sometimes the safety lug would not release the hammer and the gun would be locked up. I removed the grips and hosed it out with gun scrubber, followed with a heavy application of Hoppes gun oil in an aerosol can. Problems went away.

First time I've ever seen a new gun fail becuse of lack of lube!

I've now dry-fired it a bunch - using Tipton snap caps - and the trigger pull has smoothed out to be equal or even better than my Smith model 10-5.

I like the appearance. Fit and finish is on a par with my Smiths and Colt, with beautiful blueing. And it is devoid of ugly billboard roll marks.

I've been carrying it every day, along with an extra Bianchi Speedstrip - have not had good results with HKS 10 speedloaders because of grip interference. Fits model 10 holsters.

I'm very happy with it.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know that some may come very dry - never had that happen with a revolver, but... Grip problems don't really bother me. I have a habit of making my own after I decide to keep a handgun (unless they are molded on) Pretty sure I'm going to give this a try before long.

I have a Rossi M877 stainless 6 shot snubby in 357. Fit and finish as well as lockup are great. Barks too much with 357 loads, but 38 special are fun to shoot. Never a bit of trouble with it.

I too have the Rossi 357 mag 2"
With CT grips. It's very accurate under 15 yds,
I use the laser over that distance.
No problems with P + 38's . Speer
140 grs. Are a handful. I like Hornady 110
Grs. HP's . 357 full loads are very hard
On my hands. It's a good gun though.
Good luck!
