I recently purchased a Rossi M971 357 revolver with original manuals and case. Purchased at pawn shop in local town. Serial number I believe starts with F 007. 4" barrel. Gun has blued finished and is in very good to excellent condition with wood grips. Gun was not fired as per seller and seems to accurate as well as trustwothy. I was curious if anyone had any info on year of gun and would appreciate any personal feedback on quality/value/likes/dislikes of gun. Gun staes made in Brazil however directly under this it says Iterarms,Alexandria Virginia. Tnx....

I purchased a new M971 in .357 with a 6" SS barrel about 15 years ago. I recall that I paid $160 for it from a local dealer and have always been quite pleased with this revolver. Although it has become a safe queen, I do shoot it every year or two and it remains very dependable and accurate enough to use it for most purposes.

i've had one for yrs. it has a 2 1/2 " ported barrel and is my glove compartment gun. my wife actually picked it out shortly after we were married. it is a good gun for the money. i would recommend one to anyone who needs a reliable yet affordable/on a budget gun.

Interarms was simply the importer-distributor of the OP's gun. Interarms went by the wayside fifteen or so years ago. I had a 4" stainless .357 Interarms-era 971 before I lost it in a rough country hunting incident--think it's still out there! (After discovering it missing, a temporary recess from the deer hunt and four hour attempted retracking (and return later) couldn't re-locate our path). For the time I had it (3 years) I really liked the 971--functioned flawlessly and carried (for awhile!) well. I think it was a great value. I don't have any experience with the current crop of Braztech-Taurus sourced 971s.
