Rossi M92 45 LC questions

Hello:

I traded a S&W model 10 for a Rossi M92 in 45 LC today. I have heard mixed reports about these guns but I must say, this one seems to operate and cycle cartridges very smoothly. I haven't disassembled it but I certainly don't see any obvious rough edges or shortcuts anywhere except for the plastic follower.

Does anyone know where I can buy a metal replacement follower? The plastic one hasn't caused any problems but, on general principle, I don't like having plastic in a gun.

Does anyone make an upgrade stock set for this gun?

Is there a "plug" or something available to replace that annoying little safety thingamjiggy on the top of the receiver?

Are there any parts that are prone to breakage that I should maybe order up a spare for?

Are the parts interchangeable with original 92 parts?

Thanks

Steve also makes/sells a drop-in bolt peep sight which replaces the bolt-top lawyer safety - easily R&R'd via opening the bolt & tapping out the small retaining crosspin located in the bolt's locking lug cutouts.

(Just be sure to cover the safety with a handkerchief to prevent the little detent spring from flying off to parts unknown)

If you do the peep, don't forget to remove the rear bbl open sight & replace it with a slot filler blank, bought or made from an old longleaf rear sight's dovetail section, for a clean sight picture.

IIRC, that's a maybe on the Winchester wood. Additional fitting/inletting--some say more than a little--may be involved. And if you're wanting to stay with the carbine butt, good used Winchester wood (last made ca 1941--pre war 92s and 94s carbine butts and large bore 92 and .30/.32 etc 94 carbine forearms the same/interchangeable btw) doesn't exactly abound out there (don't know about the newer Miroku Win compatability). www.precisiongunstocks.com has Rossi-specific walnut replacement stocks (for carbines). You will still need to final finish and do final fitting.
