I have a M88 Rossi (recently acquired) It was made in Brazil.
There's an interarms stamp on the right side along with serial number W436996. The left side of the 2" bbl is marked Amadeo Rossi, SA.
It appears to be stainless but I'm not sure. Info seems hard to come by on the internet.
Anyone have any information on these guns? Age, Strength etc?

Not +P rated.

The way to deal with that for defense loads is to go to www.federalpremium.com , which has the 125gr. round nosed hollowpoint Federal Nyclad. This is a load with a real world documented track record that expands dynamically and has deep penetraion.

www.buffalobore.com has two premium standard pressure .38 Special rounds that have the +P velocity, but not the +P pressures. Stay away from the hardcast rounds.

Minor use of +P would probably not do much harm to the gun, but if you don't have to why do it? The extra wear and tear on the revolver are just noth worth it.

Rossi will not fix any gun that has the Interarms stamp on it unfortunately. Rossi changed it's lineup, production methods, and models shortly after bringing the 88 out.

There are still a lot of 88s out there doing duty as nightstand guns and as backup pieces.

Here are some places that might be able to help with parts if needed.

A competent gunsmith should be able to take care of any maintaining that needs to be done.
