Rossi M685 question and more

I just recently acquired a Rossi M685 .38 Special in a trade, and I was wondering if I could have any feedback on this gun (Google hasn't given too much).
What kind of IWB holster fits this gun?
What's a good SD round (non +P) for a .38 Special, and what's a good website?

I like Hornady's Critical Defense standard pressure load. A good 158 gr semi wadcutter or 148 gr full wadcutter should work ok too.


Looks like the gun is about the same size as a J frame S&W. I'd see if J frame holsters fit it.

I went to a few websites like Bianchi and galco,,,
In their charts I couldn't find your particular Rossi listed.

But if it's a 5-shot .38 special,,,
It's probably very close to a S&W J-frame,,,
Chances are any holster that would fit a Model 36 is okay.

Try before you buy though,,,

Thanks guys. I've checked all the major holster sites with no luck. What separates the S&W J frame from the Taurus M85? I was thinking more along the lines of the Taurus, but y'all have both recommend the Smith (just curious). Everytime I go to a store that sells holsters, I don't have the gun with me.
