Rossi Circuit Judge .410 / .45

I have never fired one or known anyone who has. I know Rossi is a subsidiary of Taurus, who has an iffy background. I like the idea of the gun and was thinking of getting one. Has anyone ever used one or know much of them? Are they quality guns for the price or just POS? Any alternatives? I am also thinking of a .357 / .38 rifle as well. The gun would be used for fun and if SHTF.

I have heard absolutely nothing about this gun outside of the reviews that rossi themselves have touted. I dont know about the circuit judges but as you said they are pretty much just a Taurus with a different stamp on the reciever. I know that their Q/C is very hit or miss on their lever guns. it does make a good "stunt gun" or "cabinet queen". I too was considering the circuit judge until I sat down and wrote everything out
price: $500
quality: toss a coin
likelyhood that rossi will have good customer service: toss a coin
ammo cap:5
ammo cost:45 colt(.70-1.25 a round) 410(.50-1.50 a round)
action: single action revolver

on the other hand you could go with an ak47/74
price: 350-800(depending on quality, a good $500 is fairly decent)
quality: generally decent to good as long as you dont go with bottom shelf
customer service: generally good with century and vector
ammo cap: normally 10-30 but you can get crazy 100 round mags
ammo cost: .17-.80 a round
action: semi auto

it is definitely good a good range toy and a lot more cost effective and useful should the "hit fit the shan"
just my .02

if you're looking at a lever gun for a backup browning, winchester, and marlin are hard to beat

I thought it was double action.

also that was my mistake, the circuit judge is single/double action.

I like the looks of the rifle/shotgun. My only real concern is having my hand forward of the cylinder while firing.

It has got a shield on either side forward of the cylendar.

Cool to shoot but I've yet to find a reload in .45 Colt that it likes.
