rossi 92

My step father has a rossi 92. I instructed him to get that dvd and kit to modify the lever action so that it feeds smoother. Well, he did a great job with the modification and it does feed smoother, but not with the 357. Seems those rounds are.simply too long to be able to feed smoothly without having to baby the lever. Anybody have any suggestions to correct this? He was telling me that a friend of his said he needs to use "specialized ammo" if he wants the 357's to feed as smooth as the 38's....true?

What type of rounds does he fire? SWC, round nose, or other? I you haven't already tried round nose ammo, then I would give that a shot. You could also try 124 grain as opposed to 158... that should eek out a tad shorter if length is the issue.

Do you reload by any chance? This would give you more options.

Ditto - My .38/357 Rossi M92 never failed to cycle .357's smoothly.

FWIW, I only used 158gr JSP .357's in it, and never .38 Special's. (I only hunted deer with it)
