I have several Rossi lever action rifles, and have been looking for a stainless one in 454 Casull for a long time. My LGS got a new blued one in, so I was going to jump on it, but upon inspection I noticed some rust on the underside of the barrel, between the barrel and the tubular magazine. I found this rather off-putting and passed on it, but now I'm reconsidering it.
So, my questions are, should I just suck it up and have the shop gunsmith see if he can remedy it, or do it myself, and does anyone have one of these or have an opinion about them in .454? I have ones in .357/38, 44 mag and .45 Colt, and like them.
Thanks
