Rossi 462

I was at an Academy Sports store in Houston yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to see that they've started selling handguns now. For $259, there was a new Rossi 462 snubby in 357 Mag, made by Taurus. Very similar to a 605, but it's a 6-shooter and has the trigger-mounted firing pin that I prefer (looks better). Fired 100 rounds of blazer ammo through it today and had no problems whatsoever. Accuracy was average, as I'd expect from a snubby, and the grips do a good job in absorbing the 357 Mag recoil. It seems like a nice piece for a reasonable price.

Ive shot them...I have a short but great history with Rossi guns and IMO...you cant go wrong. I have many thousands of rounds thru a couple of them...stayed tight, accurate and the triggers just got better...shoot well

I believe you meant to say 'hammer mounted firing pin'.

I bought a 462 a couple of months ago and it has replaced my Smith model 60 as a summer carry weapon. Bench rested groups, at 25 yards are very tight, although mine shoots about 6" high at that range. It is consistent enough, though, that I can compensate for the elevation and do a job on steel plates at that range.

Trigger is as good, or better, both single and double action as my Smith. Grip better absorbs recoil/shock than the Smith. So far, I'm pleased with it.
