Our own Tamara can surely help you on Rossi firearm's.
I think she does own, or has owned a Rossi or two; in
her lifetime?

My experience's are limited to their snub nose .38's; and
quite frankly I have never seen a bad one.

I picked up Tamara's old Rossi 720 Covert on a trade. It's a pretty handy little package, very well put together. The best feature is the enormous bore in relation to the overall size of the gun...five rounds of .44 Special in a frame that's sized somewhere between a J and a K frame Smith. The three inch barrel means it has a full-length ejector rod. Very serious little toting package...

They're no longer produced. If it's unfired and in excellent shape it may be worth it. Used, it may be a bit high. BUT, they are getting pretty hard to come by nowadays; at least in my area. I love mine and will probably never part with it. Recoil is manageble with the 200 grn. Blazers I use and it feels real good in my hands. I wind up using K-frame holsters for it and have been happy with the fit. If you can, try to get it down to $200 or so. But if you feel you must have it I think you will be satisfied at the asking price. It's just a fun gun to have around and will CCW with the best of 'em.

This Rossi is built tough...........

I have a 720 5 shot Rossi SS and love it! This little gun can compete with the best of them. This is my personal carry gun when I do carry. Small but carries a big wallop if your on the recieving end. paid $219.00 for mine brand new. Try to get the price down if you can. This is one of those hidden gun treasures like the Glenfield Model 60 is. I hope this helps. ;)

have a Rossi 971 in 357 (6 shot) snubby. after having a slick action polished by my gunsmith, it is unreal. nice tight good shooting revolver.

buddies wife has the 44 special, 3" bobbed hammer. it too is a very nice piece.

as they are no longer available: if i see one at that price and it is decent, will bring it home. not that much money for a good gun.

If you can ID the Rossi as a genuine 720 [open the cylinder and check the stamping on the frame inside the crane], buy it if it's in decent shape.

They are no longer made but were one of the best of Rossi's offerings.

I passed on one at the last show but only because I didn't want to haggle on the $290 offering price.

lendringser...

Tamara traded it off to you? Really? Congratulations!

Indeed. I caught the lad with a bad case of the New Gun Jones and beat him up rather badly, or at least I think so. ;)

Nah, I got a chance to swap it for a sweet Model 12 (M&P Airweight) snubbie.

Plus, I "kept it in the regiment", so to speak.

I suppose...

But that Rossi of yours (now led's) is a sharp looking revolver. Will he at least let you "visit" from time to time?:D

Does Rossi still make handguns?

I thought they had quit the handgun end of the business.

.44 Special is a wonderful cartridge, accurate, powerful yet compared to the .44 magnum almost no recoil.

So what choices do we have now, just Taurus?

Rossi was purchased by Taurus...the much-thinned line is being marketed here as BrazTech [or are they just the importer]?

The mainstay 5-shooter, .38 Special revolvers that were known as the Model 68 & 88 are still available under the new company. Seems that a line of .357Mag revolvers are offered, too.

Rossi currently makes a .38 special and a 357, each in either blued or stainless. (They also make some long guns.) I have the stainless six shot .357 and at about $259 I think it is a great bargain. These are beautifully made revolvers that work just fine. Granted, I haven't fired that many rounds through it. Older Rossi revolvers may not have been so good; I don't know.
