Still looking around for a snub that fits my budget and has good history behind it.

I know some guys whom in the past had Rossi hate them...but a few have said Rossi has improved since Taurus is owner now.

I am looking at the 357 - 2" snub.... I figure I may give it a diet of mainly 38 but the ability to go big for conceal carry too.

Thanks in advance for the pro and con to my question....... :D

Bought one for my son for Xmas and it is going back to Davidsons because it isn't functioning properly. I heard just the opposite of your version about the Taurus situation.

I'll say that Rossi was alot better when Interarms had them.

As far as Taurus revolver's go they get a bad rap here and there, but you get what you pay for. It goes bang. If it goes bad you send it back to Taurus.

I've got a M415 in .41 MAG, with about 4000 rounds through it so far, and I've sent it back once. I only paid 300 for it new, so I can't complain much.

I pick up my Rossi 461 tomorrow. I should be able to get to the range Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Taurus also makes some nice small .38's and .357's. I own several Taurua handguns and haven't had any problems with any of them.

Have you thought about buying used? if you look around there's some good deals to be found on used snubbies. A J frame S&W or Colt D frame loaded with a good +p would make a nice carry gun. I bought 2 S&W J frames, a 36 that looks like new and a 60 that had never been fired, for $300.00 each.

A used S&W K frame snubby can still been found for a fairly reasonable price. They're slightly larger than the Rossi but they make good carry guns and they're great shooters.

Also check out the Ruger SP101. They're great snubbies. I bought an SP101 that had never been fired for $250.00. It was still in the original box and had the original paperwork.

I have a Rossi 357 snubbie, and love it. I have shot over 2000 rounds through it, without a single problem. It has a nice trigger pull in both SA and DA. I was initially concerned with some rumors that I had heard, but after speaking with a gunsmith friend of mine, I made the purchace. NO REGRETS. I recomend giving them a chance!
