Seems like pot luck to me. I read that the 2000 models were improvements on the 1999 guns. I bought a 2001 model. Guess what? Soft hammer. I've already replaced the stocks with US synthetic, so I can legally change out the hammer and disconnector. However, I'm going to shoot the existing hammer until it disintegrates and then make the switch. You pays your money, you takes your chances. Still a good gun, even if you have to swap out a few parts, and the stocks I put on make it a much nicer gun IMO.
