Romak-1

Got a few question maybe someone can answer for me. I've been looking for a AK for a while now and have somewhat settled on a SAR-1. I called a local dealer today and asked what he had. No SAR's but he says he has a Romak-1 in 7.62x39 but he couldn't tell me much about it. MY questions are: 1. Can this rifle take standard capacity magazines or is it single stack only? 2. Is it a pistol grip stock or is it one of those weird lookin' dragonuv type jobs? 3. How are the quality & fit/finish of these compared to the SAR's? 4. Anything bad i should look for if i go to look at this gun? The dealer is about 45 minutes away from me and i dont wanna trek out there if this thing isnt worth the time. Thanks for the help!

1. yes
2. probably a thumbhole stock(ie. dragunov). can easily be changed to pistol grip if you have US parts.
3. much much better than the SAR series. The ROMAK and CUR rifles were imported a couple years before the SAR rifles were. The SARs were mass produced, and came in as parts kits. century did a lousy ass job of putting them together. the ROMAKs and CURs were imported by INTRAC i think. they didnt fiddle with them at all.
4. just inspect the bore, action, internals. there shouldnt be a problem with crooked gas blocks and front sites like in the SARs, but it wouldnt hurt to check. ask if its brand new. and if not, ask how many rounds were fired. the price drops as more rounds were fired.

how much was he asking for???
