I just bought a rolling block rimfire rifle in a cal. .514 (or close to it). is it possible to get rimfire cartridge shells for this cal. or will i have to convert it to centerfire.

.514

I haven't been able to pin down the cartridge. Obsolete USA cartridges that are close to that diameter are the .50 Remington Navy, which was developed for rolling block pistols and the 56-50 or 56-52 Spencer. The 56-50 has a diameter of 0.513. It is available from The old Western Scrounger in smokeless or BP loadings and is expensive at $130USD per 50.

I am not sure that the OWS ammo is rimfire.
If it is the .50 Remington - VERY hard to find. Try keeping an eye on this link - though they have none at present -

My guess is that, with the OP being in the Netherlands, this might be a military rimfire of European origin.

Knowing the manufacturer of the rifle would be a big help.
