Rolling block replica identification

I have what looks like a Remington 1871 Rolling block 45-70 replica in excellent condition. There are no manufacturer markings, but has a 5 digit serial number 15xxx. a 30" fully blued barrel and action and a Williams aperture sight. Most accurate at 100 yard! Any ideas who manufactures such replicas?

Pedersoli makes a Rolling Block and I think Uberti used to for Navy Arms. The current Uberti is based on the small No 2 action with distinctive angled rear action surface.

If imported as a complete rifle, they would have Italian proof marks, though.
Perhaps yours was a shop job on a repro action.
Or maybe it is an original with the markings buffed off.

Could the markings be under the stock on the bottom of the barrel?...or elsewhere? This one has a large screw cap in the middle of the butt plate. Nothing on the inside of the stock hole...perhaps for cleaning supplies.

Yep, under the stock is the best place to check on RBs, unless of course the rifle was buffed out and reblued.

I have both a custom Remington #1 & an old Navy Arms... this is my Navy Arms 40-65...

I have since received the identification from markings...
Stamped on my Remington 45-70 Rolling Block rifle are the following markings on the back stock strap behind the hammer:

E. REMINGTON & SONS . ILION NY U.S.A.
PAT MAY 30 1874 MAY - JUNE 11-16 - NOV 12-18 DEC 24 1918
DEC 31 1?18 SEPT 9?? 1873 JAN 12TH MARCH 1870 1874

The 5 digit serial number is 152##

So it is a genuine "Remington", and NOT a replica. I'm pleased!

Don't know if I have a pic of my patent dates, but someone should be able to tell you if it's a #1, #2 or ???? ( #1's were black powder rated, & likely have earlier patent dates ) my breech block is newer ( smokeless ) & hammer modified when I bought this one...

I have a navy arms pedersoli rolling block only info is on the left side of the receiver it has a 23.25 half octagon half round barrel under the forward stock is made Italy it has all the brass trigger guard butt plate and receiver plate and barrel ring any information

The 1918 patent date pretty much limits it to a #5 military action. These were chambered for smokeless military cartridges like the 7X57, 30-03, etc. It was likely rebarreled by a gunsmith somewhere who didn't think it was important to put his name on it.
