Hi Harley,
I told a customer at the shop I would write in hopes of finding some information for him. He has an antique .22 youth-size rifle that he wants to refinish for his grandson. There are parts missing from the outside that he would like to make and replace. He feels if he had a photo to look from, he may accomplish this task. If you know anything about the rifle we would appreciate your help!

The only writing I could find on the rifle was Rodgers Arms Co.22LR Takedown.
No model number or serial number was provided.

I don't have a photo or blow up on the gun. I did find that Rogers Arms Co was a trade name used by the Hood Firearms Co on guns made for an unknown retailer.

Those were inexpensive guns and AFAIK no parts are available. I don't know what is missing, but it might not be cost effective to make parts since the gun has such little value.

Since you are not the customer, I will pass on a little "voice of experience". I probably had a hundred or so customers who brought in old guns they wanted fixed "for sentimental reasons". We would tell them the gun was not worth fixing, but invariably they would say that "price is no object." Yet, when we fixed the guns and charged $50-100 or more, the customer screamed bloody murder, and told us the gun was not worth that, which was what we had told him. In several cases, the customer told us to "keep the %*^& gun", forgetting his supposed sentimental attachment to his heirloom.

We still had some of that junk around when I retired from gunsmithing.

I would try to find a good used modern .22 for the boy.
