Robinson Arms M96

Ah so, Gunfucious, there is a great deal of wisdom in what you have offered.

I shall make the journey to the forbidden gunshop and make an offering at the altar of the M96!

I got the carbine length, but may go back and buy the longer barrel as well. A short rail is also on my list

I have owned Mini-14s and Ar-15s, but did not like the Mini for its inaccuracy and lack of hi-caps. Ars are cool, but I don't like the gas system. The M96 takes the best of a lot of designs and puts them together.

The thing is incredible. It field strips in seconds with nothing but a cartridge to push a few pins. Can't wait to get to the range.

Please get back to us on whether it outperforms an AR sufficiently to be worth 2x the price. I've looked at these several times and they are nifty, but what will it do that an AR won't?

Golgo,

To answer your question, Not Jam.

:p

Ok, I better get out of here before I start another AR vs. the World thread, just couldn't resist.

It handles pretty well, but is a little heavier than an AR of the same barrel length (HBAR, it's way heavier than an A1 or M4 barreled AR). Once they have had a few years to iron out all the kinks and drop the price a bit I'll get one, but right now I have big gaps in my collection to fill and the M96 isn't one of them. Once they get that belt-fed version out though, it will go up in cool points :> LAter.
