Robinson Arms copy of the Stoner?

I just read something about a company called Robinson Arms out of Salt Lake City. They are supposed to make a copy of the Stoner semiauto rifle that takes M-16/AR-15 magazines. This would indicate a 5.56/.223 chambering. Anyone know anything about this rifle? Does Robinson have a web site (my search engine couldn't find it)? Any info would be appreciated as this sounds interesting.

The Stoner is an excellent, rugged, reliable weapon. It's VASTLY superior to the M-16 and is worth the little extra you'll pay for it. Navy Seals used the gun during Vietnam (Stoner version) because of it's many virtues. Most of what can be said of the Stoner also applies to the Robinson gun. I've handled them and was quite impressed. They tried to get it to work with AK-47 magazines but have still not perfected so, for the time being, it's only .223.

Thanks for the feedback guys. This is interesting enough to look into further. Sure would like to see and handle one though. None of the dealers I know around here seem interested in them, at least not enough to order one. With the interest in "assault" style rifles I can't imagine one of these things setting on the rack for long but then I don't own a gun shop (and would probably run it in the ground if I did).

the main issue i have with the M-96 is the price
since it is a limited production model it is ~1400 bucks

The stamped reciever design was created by Saint Eugene to make the rifle cheaper to produce than an AR in countrys with less sophisticated infrastructure.

I would also like it if Bushmaster produced a chrome lined bore for the M-96

If you have handled one and tried it out...
You'll know you got what you payed for.
I put it on the same level as the G36.
Great weapon system

Same level, hell. It's almost the Same Weapon. The gas system is identical, the bolt system is identical. The only Major thing that differs is that the receiver is molded instead of stamped to save money and weight. There is, of course, the really useful charging handle which I think is a major breakthrough for the G-36.
