Robar mods to Glock

I've been trying to convince myself that I don't want a Glock...in part because they are bulky, and I'm looking for a carry weapon.

Then I find out that Robar (the guys that make a real cool .50BMG rifle :) ) also do some modifications to Glock pistols.

I'm curious about their grip reductions, I wonder if this would decrease the reliability / durability of the gun (I also wonder if it's ridiculously expensive).

Anyone out there have any experience with them?

Anyone out there have an opinion on the process (yeah...asking this bunch for an opinion seems pointless, you guys don't seem to have strong opinions on anything ;)

I have a 17, 26, and 30 with grip reductions from ARS, ARS, and Robar, respectively. I've handled a Dane Burns 19. I'm picking up a 22 tonight and will have a reduction on it. The 36 I have will get some attention as well. (Maybe then it will be of use to me as a niche gun of some sort.) The reductions have no effect on reliability. I personally consider them a major improvement in how the guns handle and feel. Of course, YMMV.

Dunno about the Glock mods, but when I had my 1911 finished, Robar took forever to get it back to me. Good work, but sloooooww.

I have an aggressively textured 27 w/a half beavertail. They've worked on other guns of mine and have always done quality work. It's convenient that they're local for me. :) Turn around time varies on time of year. It's pretty good right now. I have handled a couple of 22's and a 21 that have been reduced. Nice work, no effect on reliability. The department recently started doing it for recruits w/especially small hands (at the departments expense!).

Arizona Response Systems has done a Glock 23, and 35 for me, and i am very happy with their quality. I went with them b/c they were the least expensive for the same number of cuts. The only difference with most of the different reductions is the finish.

I would reccomend their reduction fully.

I was happy with my finish but sanded it down for a better AGRIP fit.

Look to Glocktalk.com, and search under my handle Ironballs - as i have several posts with pictures regarding the reduction.

I am now more accurate, the guns are smaller, and my point of aim/target aquisition time is much reduced.
