RoArms M96

racine

Just purchased a used one this weekend after trading my Preban CAR for it. Unfortunately it did not come with an owners manual. Funny thing though, when I got it home it would not chamber any of my New or Reloaded 223 rounds? I'll call Robarms in the am and find some answers. Any M96 owners have any tips to share with this newbie? Good sight rails, slings, etc...Thanks for any info you can share...

If you are having problems of this nature, take it back to where you purchased it and I'm sure that they will make it right.

If you email or call Robarms, I am sure that they would be more than willing to send you a owners manual. Great folks to work with. Just make sure that you don't fiddle with the rifle too much before either getting instructions from someone who owns one or reading the manual. This rifle has some special do's and don't that must be followed or the rifle can be damaged.

The main "don't" is:
Don't manipulate the charging handle when the selector lever is on "safe", as you might damage it in doing so.
The Robinson Armament M96 is a very robust .223 rifle. I can't think why it would have any consistent problems with chambering.
About mounts; get the Robinson mount that screws into the 4 holes along each side of the top of the upper receiver. It has its own integral rear (flip-up) sight, and it allows mounting of sights of any eye-relief. It's very stable. (You'll have to remove the standard rear sight with the protective "wings" in order to mount the sight rail.)
If you email Robinson Armament (zdf@robarm.com), I'm sure they'll send you an owner's manual, or at least a photocopy. They're pretty customer-oriented. Best of luck.
