I have to look for a load at 50 yards with the ruger :I can shoot to 25 yards two hand hold and keep the group to 3" free hand all day ;I still can't seem to find a load that group the way I want it at 50 yards.I load 35 Gr. triple 777 with 15 gr. cream of wheat and adding a grease Cookie top with hornady RB
 
What Hawg Said you can try it see if it works... if you must try Puff-Lon graphite filler, but Hodgdon staes not to use a filler asit can be dangerous... I leave the ball sit on a Lube Pill of my own recipe. The equivelent of 35gr BP to 777 is 29.75 or 30 gr of BP ...25gr of 777 = 21.25gr of BP ... 25gr of BP= 28.75gr of 777 ...I'd stick to ffg 777 if ya gotta use 777.
35gr of Black Powder is what I use up to 100yards...I won't use 777 as it's too finicy and 15% more powerful should be reduced by 15% per Hodgdon's website. And ...don't like to be compressed.
BP or regular Pyrodex is much more accurate especially up too 100yd. as far as my test results have proven in revolvers.
Now that's just my Honest opinion...

Where I live, we have trouble getting "real" Black Powder within 100 miles and I have gotten accustomed to shooting Pyrodex. I gotta say it's pretty consistant stuff, and you CAN use Fillers with it.
Ya might give it a try?

well not a bad day to day seem the ROA likes 35 gr. triple 777 and a wad over the powder and ball.I used a grease cookie top over the ball but got better group with out the grease cookie top.
I was shooting 20 yards 2 hand hold unsupported and placed a dozen shots inside a 2" pattern
 
Have you slugged the barrel and reamed the chambers to match? Sounds like you have done several different loads, reaming may be the next step in the quest for accuracy.
 
I am pretty content with 2" group at 20 yards off hand
I like to ask any one ever leave there gun over night and clean it the next day using triple 777 powders.I some time feel the biggest problem after shooting a few rifle and pistol cleaning them is a must at the end of the day .
The ruger takes the MOST time.
has any one left triple 777 in there OLD Army and cleaned them the next day without finding any rust or pitts in the bore?
 
I waited until the next day to clean my Remington after shooting non-corrosive American Pioneer powder. I coated the entire gun and extra cylinder inside and out with pure mineral oil and that protected it just fine. Some folks use Ballistol or Ballistol mixed with water, but the pure mineral oil worked to loosen up all of the fouling. I ran down to the drug store after coming home late at night and bought some. Applied some of it into the trigger mechanism too and I'm going to try using it on the cylinder pin during shooting. Mineral oil has higher temperature resistance than vegetable oils.

I'll go two or three days without cleaning using Pyrodex and it has a worse rep than real black for causing rust.
