RKBA … how do you pronounce that?

Yes; I know what it stands for … the question is; when you use “RKBA” do you say “R”-”K”-“B”-“A” articulating each letter or do you pronounce it as an acronym? You know … like Rigid-hull Inflatable Boat (RIB) a Marine Corps and Navy term. RIB sounds kind of cool … “Hay so and so … take one of the RIB’s and go assault something …”

But … RKBA ??

I’m having a little trouble making it sound “cool” like a rally cry. I sound more like a cross between an Arab and a Ruskie clearing his throat.

Yes I know “I’m a moron”; but give me a break as it is past 95 today and I have yet to install the AC in our new building and have not fully acclimatized.

However, I must know ..........

“This is my rifle, there many like it but this one is mine …”

I just say the letters. No need to acronymize (is that a word?) it.

If you must, I suppose "arkaba" would work, but it does sound like something Abdul Alhazred would put it in the Necronomicon.

Scott, have you been hanging around with Sensop too much? LOL :)

terri, good to see you're back with the living.
(Oh wait, do any of us have a life? Seems that we spend an awful lot'o'time online. Hmmmm. ;) )
Anyway, I've heard it pronounced "rick-bah", but I don't know, that's kinda silly too.
I just talk in terms of pro-freedom & anti-freedom.

Hey its good to be back, but since I can't work the only thing I got to do is spend it online harassing my fellow TFLer's. :)

I say the individual letters.

Coin, it's already been acronymized. Maybe you mean mnemonicize? No, that's not it. Militarize? No...

I simply say the individual letters when saying it. "Gun people" (GP) know what I mean and "non gun people" (NGP) always ask. That gives me the opening I need to explain it. I often delibrately inject it in a conversation to elicit the question from the NGP. That way they brought the subject up and I am not the one soliciting them and "preaching". I always begin with the constitution, mom, apple pie, country, duty, yada, yada, yada then place emphasis on the Right to keep and bear arms.
