Riser for Lee Classic Cast

I've been looking at Inline Fabrication 9.5 inch riser for my Lee classic cast breech lock press. I like to load standing up and old back muscles are hurting as my bench is only 34 inches tall. I don't want to have to wait and Midway has them special order. Not a welder and don't know one so I'm wondering if any of you have made one out of wood. I'm hoping to make one out of 2x12 and was wondering if any of you have made your own risers. Pictures would help.

When I called Friday they haven't made the next run of top mounts for the classic breech lock. They have the riser but not mounting plate at this time. I'm thinking of just ordering the portable stand and get the anniversary press I have sitting in a shelf and put on until it comes in.

Don't make your own from wood. I own the Inline fabrication riser for a turret press and it is, by far, the best purchase I have made when it comes to all of my hardware components. It gives you the added height you want and better leverage.

Did Inline give you a time estimate for the next production batch? I know it's hard to wait but it is worth it.

Best of luck.

you can do something similar with Dillon Strong Mounts but you will need to get a piece of steel and drill holes that match your press.

This is what I did to make a portable system I could take to the range.

I had gotten info wrong and wasn't aware that different top plate for classic cast and classic cast Breechlock which is the one I own. Already shipped from Eugene Oregon and supposed to be here the 10th. I wanted the quick change die mount as I want to get me a turret instead of single stage for 357 and 9 mm so I should be set to go. Just waiting to get here and go buy some bolts to mount to my bench. Leaning over that far in several stages bothers the arthritis in my back pushing ram stroke that low. I can't wait to get it set up. I tried a stool but the handle is always bumping something.
Is that the Lee turret on yours in the picture????

Thanks for compliment on signature. I like the press. I do rifle on my classic cast and have been doing 9 mm and 357 but slow going. That one looks like all I need. It would have to speed things up a bit. It will do turret or single either one??

Yes, just remove the indexing rod and it acts like a singe stage or conventional turret where you have to index it manually.

I am really impressed by this press. I bought two, one to take to the range in the configuration shown in the pic and one mounted to my main reloading bench. When I load develop at the range I simply swap out the turret at the bench.
