Just got back from a short hunting adventure in North Central South Dakota.
First time I have been back to hunt pheasants in over a dozen years. Hunted with an old work buddy of mine. He is a retired LEO ( I just got tired) Anyway, Drove up on Monday and spent my $110.00 bucks and went hunting on Tue, Wed, and Thursday. Colder than a well digger's bucket, with a little snow on Tue. and a good deal of wind all three days. Lots of birds (danged good thing, because my shooting sucked!:barf Had a great time and brought home some ringnecks and a few sharptail grouse. Lots of corn still in the fields and some sunflowers.. Saw lots of deer, both whitetail and muleys, a couple of yotes and ducks, geese and wild turkeys..talked about doing it again next year but earlier and hopefully warmer!
As much as I love living and hunting in Wyoming, I sure miss the bird hunting!
