Rifling changes on 629?

I'm in the market for a 629 and am trying to figure out the various changes that were made over the years. John Taffin documented this very well over on sixgus.com, but he didn't talk about rifling changes.

I seem to recall that S&W changed the rifling on the 686 sometime in the 90's. The new rifling was described as "works better for jacketed bullets, and worse for lead" than the previous type.

Did the 629 go through similar changes? If so, when? Or are the gunpowder fumes getting to me and I dreamed this all up?

Thanks!
