Rifled Barrel

I was thinking about buying a rifled barrel for my 500. They are about $144.
I can buy a good single shot for that, and for just a bit more, a rifled single shot with sights. For a hundred more, I can get another pump.......problems...problems. What would y'all do?

I would be reluctant to shoot a bunch of slugs out of a lightweight 12 ga. single shot. The heavier the gun the better so long as it balances- it will hurt less. You will likely have to shoot a lot in the process of finding which brand/load your slug gun likes, and then zeroing with that load. Shooting a bunch of slugs at one sitting is a great way to cultivate a flinch if you aren't careful.

Slug guns need tweaking and once set up IMO should be left alone. I'd go for another pump as a dedicated slug gun if i were going to be hunting with it. If you swap barrels you will have to re-do the setup/confirm the zero every time- doesn't sound like fun to me.

YMMV,
