Riflebasix Trigger

Just installed my New trigger -
Riflebasix for my Weatherby Vanguard MOA (.22-250)

This was a true drop in install --Yippee KiaAyy:)
I think it took less than 1 minute - Removed stock-2 screws, removed trigger
1 screw and installed, replaced stock, DONE --NO Dremel tool or file or......

It fires at 16 OZ. I can't wait to to get to the range!!!

This is a BIG difference from helping a friend install his Jewel Trigger into his
Rem 700. What a headache - Dremel out the stock and shave the trigger guard down and cost 2x as much.

Anybody have experience with the different replacement triggers?
How did it go ??

PS The jewel was set at about 4 oz - Boy, that is light, I do not think my trigger will go that low. (It's a bit too scary for me anyway )

Remember - That gun is always loaded JD

Warning about Remington - if you send your Remington rifle back for any reason and they find an altered or new trigger they will remove it and install one of their lawyer triggers !

Use for ...

When I use this gun for hunting, it will be at 16 OZ.
But I will shooting gophers off a bench, so no I will not be carrying the rifle around in the field.

I agree with you - 4 oz IS ridiculous , you have to sneek up on the trigger and the slightest touch and the gun fires.
At 16Oz you can place your finger on the trigger and apply the 1 LB of pressure and still have some feel to it.

Also I plan to use this gun in F-Class shooting in the Open Division. This is all shot from the prone position, so no worries.

Similar experience

I installed a Timney trigger in my Vanguard and it was a "piece of cake". Remove action from stock, two screws from trigger, and replace the two screws and reinstall the stock...... Mine is set at 3 lbs because I hunt with the rifle (.270 win). The Timney has zero creep and breaks like glass......

I have a RifleBasic installed on my remington 700 VLS in .223. I also have it set up as a single shot. Its only shot off the bench and trigger is set at 2 oz. Its the touch that counts.:)

I put a Riflebasix on my Win 70 .243 yote & p-dog backup rifle. No problems atall- havent weighed it, but it's on par with my primary rifle.

I put a Rifle Basix trigger in my Stephens 200. Was not a drop in fit, I had to adjust all the screws to get the pull I wanted. Wasn't too hard, but took a little time to figure out to get the feel I wanted. I was really happy with it, but where the sear actually drops (sorry, don't know the terminology) started to wear away (rounded off) and the trigger became unsafe and unreliable. It was dissappointing because I haven't shot that very much. I'm thinking I pulled the trigger less than 1000x. I took it apart, readjusted it and it still feels pretty good. It's not *quite* as crisp, but it still gets the job done. I started a thread on TFL somewhere.. I'd have to look for it. Also learned through that thread that my experience is not an isolated problem.

I initially had it at about 1.5 lbs, now its set at 2.0lbs or just a little lower. It's a bench gun.. I think 1.5 is about perfect for the bench.

I put a Timney in my 700 a few weeks ago, piece of cake, took about 5 minutes total. It is set at 2 lbs which is where I want all of my rifles to be though some seem to be 3lbs no matter what I do.

savage

I put a Basix in a Savage 110. My model was the high dollar, target version.

I am still fooling with it. Not as crisp as I would like, and I have adjusted it all over the map. I hear the company is top shelf, and I intend to call, get new springs, and start over.

I put a Timney on a 700 SPS in .204 Ruger. The original trigger was very poor, so the Timney is a huge upgrade. Install wasn't real simple, but not difficult. Adjusts easy. Breaks at 1 1/2 pounds, and works fine.

This CZ American the local gun shop sold me has a set trigger. Have only shot about 200 rounds, but that is an unbelievable trigger. For sod poodles that should work great. It has loused up my shooting on most of the other rifles I have. Wish they all had a set tirgger. :D

The Timney trigger, is a sweet product, I haven't tried a Rifle Basix, but I'd like to test one. My two Timneys were easy to install, and took no time to adjust really. I put one on my Vanguard, it's set right at 2.5 lbs, and I do hunt with this rifle. The second is on the Mark X, .243 win rifle that belongs to my daughter, it's set right at 3 lbs even, they break very cleanly and once install they don't seem to need to be readjusted.
I hope your trigger works fine no matter how you set it.:)
