rifle options in 6.5x55 swede?

I'm interested in a rifle chambered for 6.5x55 swede, but I'm not really interested in milsurp rifles) From my searches, it looks like my modern options are Tikka, Sako, Howa, and CZ.

And I'm left-handed, and it looks like only the Tikkas & Sakos are available in left. Is that correct?

Are there any others I'm missing?

There was a small run of stainless steel Ruger #1 rifles in 6.5x55Swede. I had the chance to buy one awhile back and passed. I've been kicking myself ever since.

The Ruger #1, by the way, is fully ambidextrous.

There were also some Remington "700 Classics" sold in 6.5x55.

I just bought a CZ 550FS in .270 from Bud's Gun Shop who also had it in 6.5. It was a tough choice, but I opted for the .270.

I believe they still have the 6.5s listed, and it was the lowest price I found anywhere.

Tempted to buy this myself!

This is the first gun that came to my mind when you said you were a lefty. Ruger #1's are a joy to hunt with. Once you try it you'll be hooked. Found this on Gunbroker but you better hurry:

Good Luck!

...bug :)

somewhat pricier but the euro gunmakers all offer it in LH aswell

Sauer and Mauser both got "budget" options that cost roughly the same as the tikkas

Sauer 101 and Mauser m12

and their more expensiver flagships models sauer 202and mauser m03 which are both switch barrel rifles

Heym and blaser to but those are even more expensive

Winchester used to make one of their nicer Model 70s in 6.5/lefty. It takes some hunting, but once in a while you can still turn one up new or nearly so, and the price is usually somewhere between the Tikka and the Sako you're looking at.

If you have a lot of money to throw at the problem, Blaser, Dakota, and Mauser should be able to set you up. Mauser's M03 is available left-handed, and I think they still do the M98 as a build-to-order if you have the funds. Blaser and Dakota offer their full lineups as left-handed. I've handled a recent-production Mauser and a Blaser, and the quality is absolutely first-class, but the dealers start talking about prices normally reserved for "pretty decent used cars", so that may not be in the cards for you.

Husqvarna, is the M12 available in LH? I didn't think it was, but I admit I'm a righty so I didn't look too hard.

you made me google it and unfortunatly no:mad:
not the sauer 101 either atm

but the 202 and m03 have lefthanded versions and blaser

Of course, you can simply rebarrel any LH rifle in 25-06, 270 or 30-06 to a 6.5X55 and you'd have what you want.
Then sell the old barrel.

An old friend of mine, who loves the 6.5 Swede bought a used Winchester (670?) budget grade .30-06, and had it rebarreled to the Swede.

As a lefty, consider finding a rifle you like (any caliber long enough) and have it rebarreled. Don't overlook used rifles, you might find one where the price for the gun, and the rebarrel match the cost of a new rifle. Maybe even less?

Zoli aswelll, can't believe I forgot about that

they are the successor to the famous Husqvarna the noble and proud Swedish gunmakers, ;)

but in essence the are almost a 1900 Husqvarna mechanism but built in Italy/Turkey

the mechanism of the 1900 is famous for its smoothness, even Holland and Holland used to build rifles with the mechanism
