Rifle Cartridge Performance Plateaus

You know after you hit the .270 Winchester, 30-06, 300 Winchester Magnum level of performance caliber becomes COMPLETLY Irrelevant.

Does a 300 Magnum REALLY kill better at 300 Yards than a .270 Winchester?

I think not. :)

Dead is dead, yes, but then there's life and death past 300 yards, too!

Think I read somewhere around these forums a couple days ago where somebody dropped a critter out past 400 yards, I think they were using a 7mm STW. I've prairie dogged out around 400 with my 6.5-06, and shot tactical courses out to 1000 yards with the same rifle, but I'm currently building a 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum for thumping things way out there.

Actually it was at close to 900 yards on an Elk with a 7MM STW Magnum. All I have to say is BULL****!

Maybe a .50 BMG could do that!

500 Yards Maximum!! with a 7MM Magnum no matter what the case size or barrel life.
