Rifle build not going together!

I'm a little disappointed this morning. I got my new Action in on Friday and tried to screw together my new long range rig and ran into a big snag. Waited two weeks for the new action and during that time all my other parts came in and so I had everything I needed to put my rifle together. A little about the build:

Stevens 200 CF SA
McGowen .243 Win 26" Varmint contour 1:7 twist
SSS Competition trigger
Rayhill Tactical bolt knob and SS recoil lug
Take off CF stock from a M12 Varmint
EGW 20 MOA base
Leupold QRW medium rings
Weaver Tactical Grand Slam 3-10X40 mil-dot scope

Now for the frustrating part. After three months of waiting for the barrel from savage-barrels.com and two weeks for the new action from Northland Shooters Supply the barrel will not screw on. The threads don't match up and it is supposed to be a prefit Savage barrel. So I dropped an email to them this morning and hopefully I'll have a reply by tomorrow sometime.

I hope I don't have to wait another three months for a 1:7 barrel or I might just have to go to a 1:8 just to get up and running. I was hoping to possibly run some 115 grain bullets in Sporting Rifle Match at Raton by June. If I don't make June I'll not be able to go again until the last match in September, and then that one is kind of sketchy.

Hey Taylorce1, are the threads different or are they just tight? I will send you a PM with my number. I have invited you up to play in the shop, this might be your chance.

lol i know how you feel, Bob and i have been trying to get my safety done for the last several weeks and every time we get close we hit a snag. Just what is causing the barrel not to thread up right, are the threads the wrong pitch? too big of diameter? I think i would make the trip to Cheyenne and get the threads to work with your action before i would wait another three months for a barrel and if your building the gun with a certain use in mind i wouldn't compromise now.

Jon, at savage-barrels.com got back with me today, really wasn't expecting a response today either. Said he would pay for the shipping back and they would fix the problem in two weeks with the old barrel or have me a new one by the end of April. I can live with that if they will get it done in that time frame. Leaves me more time to spend at the range shooting my rifle I'll take to AK to hunt black bear.
