Can you use fiberglass resin from an automotive body shop to bed rifle actions? Or any other common materials?

Or should I continue to buy the Acra kits.

My goal is to improve a bunch of plinkers, not make a competition rifle.

BronzeEmu, there are several products on the Brownells website at www.brownells.com if you don't like Accra Glass or Steel Bed. I've never used anything else. If you are doing several rifles you'll be money ahead to get one of the shop kits. George

Listen to George & stick with products designed for bedding firearms.
You really won't save that much money. Plus, the problems you will run into trying to get "metal working" resins to bond properly won't be worth the hassle.
