Riding bikes while carrying?

Fanny pack is the only way to go if you are doing semi-serious biking. I usually have my Sig 239. Backpacks aren't very easy to get to in a hurry. I personally wouldn't want to leave it on the bike in saddle bag. You would need to get it out and carry it with you somehow if you need to stop anywhere. If you are doing casual biking, then a jacket pocket would do. Belt or ankle holsters would be a pain.

I bike for exercise, generally riding at night when there is far less traffic and it's cooler in humid Michigan. I carry a Glock 26 in an Uncle Mike's Kydex OWB, for it's retention properties, yet it's easy to pull with one hand and, being 9mm, is easy to control one-handed. I wear a safety vest, which is the only garment that covers it. Been doing it for years.

I mostly ride a road bike these days. I keep my P229 or Glock 17 in the outside pocket on my Camelbak. Its not all that slow to get to, but you do have to make some adjustments on how you do things.

If your serious about biking and wear the type of clothes usually associated with it, I cant imaging how you'd do it other than something like the Camelbak or maybe a fanny pack. I think the Camelbak is probably going to be a little more stable and tend to flop around less though. Then again, if you find a fanny pack that fits your body and can keep it out of your way, it might work. How aggressive you ride will also be a determining factory and what your willing to put up with. I know I couldnt wear the undershirt holster (I have a coupe of them), they would be to restrictive and heat retentive, and I sweat way to much.

If you're biking for exercise in a cycling jersey, I would think a small semi auto or snubbie would easily fit in the pockets on the back.

I ride bikes too, but I don't have a pistol I feel comfortable carrying as the XD SC is too heavy to carry in those pockets; that will hopefully be changing soon.

I cycle as well / but when I carry, the gun stays in my bag / that clicks into a quick disconnect bracket on to the seat post / under the seat. There are a number of them on the market ......I think mine is made by Velo / and I can get stopped, reach back, grab the bag / unzip the cover on the bag inside of 15 - 30 sec at the most ......if a thread presented itself to steal my bike or try and hurt me.

If you wear a heavy coat / you could carry it in a pocket .....but that isn't practical cycling... the heaviest I ever go is a windbreaker / and you aren't going to hide anyting in a pair of cycling shorts. In general, I hate jersey's with pockets in the back ....... I'm not in my 20's anymore / but a good high tech polo shirt, cycling shorts, a good cycling windbreaker is about all I wear .... a Sig 239 in .40 is my bicycle carry of choice ....

Jerseys with pockets in the back are for young people? That's news to me... maybe because I'm only 26, but even then all the "old folks" I ride with have jerseys with pockets.

All my jerseys have pockets on the back and I'm 55. I dont put anything in the pockets anyway. Always though it was uncomfortable. Just the thought of a gun in one is painful, not to mention, very wet and nasty for the gun.

I used to not own a truck, so I get your drift...seven miles to work every day, and four to class. And back home.

Pocket carry all the way.

Fanny pack with 1911 in a rack "top pack", worn when I have to lock up the bike.

This isn't immediately accessible, being in another pack, but at least it complies with the first rule of gunfighting (...have a gun.)

Rarely, I have gone on rides without the rack pack, and then I take the fanny pack. No place to stash it, so I wear it.

i carry a glock 20 (10mm) in a galco jackass rig with 2 extra mags and tiedowns with a button up shirt or vest over it. no problems and easy to get too.
