I can't shoot them because I am in the city (I might get away with .22 short noise wise) and afraid a pellet gun won't do the job. Obviously need to seal the crawlspace, but how do I get rid of them without hurting my own cat or Animal Control picking him up with them? I am sure someone here has the solution.....or will .22short work on them? A whole family under there I think.

Well, if you're in the city you can't shoot them. End of discussion.

Get a "Have-a-Heart" trap and turn them over to animal control.

Keep your own cat indoors until they're all caught, or just let your own cat out if you catch him... he won't get caught twice.:D;)

if you have cats under your porch there is most likely a resource there or nearby that they need. food, water, shelter, heat. eliminate them and the cats will leave or as mentioned get a havaheart trap and remove them.

personally i would scare them out and just close up the access they are using to enter/exit

Think this through. You do NOT want a feral cat to die under your house. If you haven't figured out why, try it and the answer will come to you in a few days.

Trap them and send them to the pound.

Or....
Trap them, and take them somewhere for "disposal".

If you take them to a shelter, you're just wasting tax dollars. Around here, 98% of cats taken to shelters get put down... but only after they have been spayed, neutered, and treated by a vet on the tax payers' dime.

My wife has 4 cats, and I like all of them. But if one of them was causing problems for some one... it would have to go.
Dirty, stinking, mangy, diseased strays? ....better known as worm food.

meow!

Get a few boxes of moth balls. Fill up some of your wife's old knee high stockings and knot the end throw these under the porch and the cats will head off to a nicer smelling place. Also works great for attic squirrels.

Part of the reason I even think of shooting them is yes I am in the city technically, but more of a country setting. My neighbors wouldn't care, but I could technically get popped for it. :(

A good pellet gun should do the trick, if even that is legal. Otherwise a trap is the way to go. Then take them out into the countryside and shoot them, or I guess take them to an animal shelter so they can eventually kill them when no one takes them home. Whatever. Just don't break any laws.

I don't know about ya'll but it seems that cats only ever climb on the driver's side of my windshield and leave paw prints right in my field of view.

About a dozen to a stocking and make sure you throw them hard, feral cats are pretty rugged.

They are mean, nasty animals that kill small game and birds and breed like rabbits. You don't want them around your house or your animals. I've live trapped a few and used a pellet gun to dispatch them in the trap. The little cans of cat food make good bait. Wear gloves when you dispose of the carcasses.

Shelters don't want them, they can't be adopted out so they just end up killing them. It's easier to save everyone else the bother and do it yourself.

"but I could technically get popped for it. "

Then why are you even asking about it?

We don't do "should I knowingly break the law" threads at TFL.

Call an animal removal service.
