Rickreall Gunshow and Measure 5

As you know the ignorant masses voted for Measure 5 here in Orygun the background at gunshows ballot measure which went into effect yesterday. Reports from a friend of mine who has a table at the show said it's the worst turn out ever! He left at 1030 and won't be back tomorrow even though he paid for the table. According to a KOIN(local ******* tv station, one of them) news report I partially caught, the system went down too. Even if you wanted to buy a gun you couldn't. These are the problems this is going to create. This measure also created a 5 year registration on all rifles and shotguns(already have it for handguns). A gunshow now is 25 or more firearms more than two people present. It also exempts the gov from any legal recourse from the buyer for failure to complete a check, no time limit to complete a check, and after a check is completed the buyer has 24 hours to pick up the gun, failure to do so will result in going through the whole process again. The gunshow at Rickreall is a good ole boy show, everyone pretty much knows everyone and so there's lots of shootin the sh#t. I've been to this show many of times and I'll miss it thanks to those gun control nazis.

I agree with you completely, wal. I imagine that Rose City Gun Collectors will not be sponsoring any more shows down in Seaside because of that idiot measure.

Than you very much, Ginny Burdick and John McCain.

I went to the Rickreall show today to see for my self if the report from my friend was correct, it was. This is a show where normally you have to side step to get through some of the aisles, not this time. Turnout out was almost nonexistent as what it would normally be and many empty tables. Talked to a few of the dealers and they said they packed up early yesterday and left, said they'd probably do the same today. The only good thing about the show is that the system was back up and running. Apparently the Expo Show is next weekend which is Oregon's biggest show that runs Fri, Sat, & Sun. We will have to wait and see what the turnout will be for that show from the effects of Measure 5.

Another thought on this is that newspaper ads may fall under this measure. The Oregonian only allows rifle sales, but the Nickel Ads also allows pistol ads. The crux of this is that measure 5 requires that any place that facilitates the transfer of more than 25 firearms is subject to its provisions. The measure is somewhat vague, so I'll bet that as soon as they realize they can do it, they'll kill newspaper ads.
