Ria rock ultra ms 10mm

I am considering a 10mm commander length 1911 for a ccw. I like the 10mm cartridge and currently the ria is the only offering that I wouldn't have to sell my truck to buy. I'd like to know what people think about this pistol or ria in general. It looks well made minus the terrible "painted with an old can of rust Oleum" finish. I would likely have it refinished, butt rounded off, better sights and probably completely gone through and any milling or roughness cleaned up. Considering the price spending another grand it make it silky smooth and perfect wouldn't bother me.
My current option is a Springfield loaded commander which I love but I am becoming more skeptical of .45. Not trying to start a caliber debate just adding this for reference.

I was recently shopping for a 10MM and the RIA commander length was one option I seriously considered. There were a couple things I did not like that I could have lived with (fiber optic sight for instance). The checkering on the back of the frame was AGGRESSIVE - enough so that I handed over the money and accepted the size of a Delta Elite. The checkering on the RIA was literally painful to grip - I would hate to think of firing the gun.

Word of warning that I feel I need to insert randomly: the recoil of full bore 10MM in, say a G29, is an entirely different animal than in a 1911. When I shoot my G29 I can't fathom why anyone had any issues with the 10MM recoil. In the Delta I begin to understand a bit more.

The Springfield custom shop advertises custom built 1911's in "any caliber suitable to a 1911 pistol" It may be possible to get a commander length 1911 there as well

While I have great respect for what the "budget" class 1911's can do for the price something tells me that a $1600 to $1700 final investment makes the "budget" class name on the slide a bit bothersome - it would bother me at least.

I picked one up last year and it shoots and function just fine for me! I also have a G29 and find the RIA much more pleasant to shoot! I shot everything from FMJ range rounds to BB full blown stuff and the RIA handled it well!

ria

just went and looked at an ria 1911 to get an idea how it is made. damn solid gun. It was very basic but I guess since I will likely be changing everything that isn't an issue.
I am considering contacting Springfield about a custom one but last time I asked them for a custom gun they quoted me $3500 so I am not optimistic.
used Dan Wesson Cbob commander is looking like an viable option.
