RIA 10mm High Capacity

Do any of you own one of the High Capacity Rock Island Armory 10mm 1911s? Something someone said in another thread got me to looking at 10mm guns, and I ended up finding out about RIA's double stack 1911. They have one that has a six inch barrel. It supposedly is really nice. They have a five inch version too, which would be the one I'd be more interested in. So, I figured I'd ask to see if any of you have one of these. Thanks. :)

RIA is in the category of "I would handle first." I decided I "needed" a 10MM 1911 and my wife and I went to look at a couple. I had decided on the RIA before getting there.

The texture on the front of the grip was AGGRESSIVE. I work with my hands enough that most grip checkering does not bother me but this felt like I was grabbing hold of a pin cushion with the pins out.

My wife suggested I buy the Delta Elite next to it. I complied :)

I love my wife.

Edit for noting: others have not had this experience with RIA and truthfully other RIA models I have handled did not have the same checkering. It may have been a "one-of" issue.

I haven't tried finding one to check out in person yet, but I've watched maybe half a dozen videos on both the single and double stack versions. No one in the videos mentioned the front grip texture being overly aggressive, but some did mention liking the grips being a little more aggressive because of recoil and better grip to manage it.

I have one of their double-stack 40's. I had to send it back to them three times before it was fixed properly. It's fun to shoot, but I will never trust it.
