Rhode Island Goes Nazi

Well, it was bound to happen some place sooner or later. According to WPRO radio today, a large group of gun-grabbers and other assorted Communists in RI state government is proposing a huge new set of anti-liberty laws aimed at lawful gun owners.

Prominent among these blatantly un-Constitutional laws will be a Bad Thought Law. Under this new law, the local police will be empowered to arrest anyone who they believe is thinking bad thoughts or in any other way is no politically correct. I am not making this up. As explained on WPRO, if the police believe that anyone is thinking any unpleasant thoughts, the police will have the right to arrest this person, detain him, and make it unlawful for him to ever own a firearm.

We've heard a lot about the gun-grabbers the past two years, but this elevates the issue to a new level.

Congratulations, Rhode Island. Stalin and Hitler are smiling.

Sorry, Woodit. I don't buy it. At least not as it is written above.

Let's find the text of the bill and post it and then decide for ourselves what this is about. No spin necessary; if it is a bad bill, it will be obvious.

Though I would not even flinch in suprise or even raise an eyebrow if this were true, I don't believe it. So please at least post a link to this goofy proposed law. Then we can confirm its existence.

It takes much to shock me anymore from the freedom grabbers. I would not be suprised if the gestopo kicked in my door and tried to steal my possessions. I would merely look up and ask "What took you so long?" And then pick up my empty brass.

Regards,
MP

Well I couldn't find the thought police bill, but I did find some interesting (?) RI links.

WPRO No story listed about the gun control bills but they do have a gun control survey on their homepage.

The Providence Journal has a story on the proposed new gun laws here.
Lawmakers try new tack to curb guns

Some 20 proposals -- including limiting gun purchases to one per month -- have been compiled into one bill, which the sponsors hope will bring broad, popular support missing from earlier piecemeal efforts.

However, I could not find the actual text for the bill at the RI Secretary of State's site. I'm guessing that hasn't been introduced yet. But why let that little detail stop you from holding a press conference

Here are the links to the sponsers listed in the article.

Sen. Rhoda E. Perry

"Goes" Nazi???

Whereyabeen? Ever hear the name Jack Reed (D-RI)?

By the by, the "poll" at WPRO is 100% "NO".

The guys to contact on these types of proposals is the Gun Owners Action League (G.O.A.L.) at http://www.goal.org.

They are the Massachusetts gun group but keep their finger on the pulse of the state next door.

I've not visited R.I. for many years, but from several friends of mine who grew up there, they've said that R.I., is totally controlled, top to bottom, by the Mafia.

On a practical level, of course, there's no cifference between the mafia and the communistnazis.

Remember that the deceased Sen. John Chaffee, a Rhino Republican, introduced bills in the US Senate to ban and conifscate all handguns in America.

I've always thought that the Mafia told him what to do, and with all handguns banned, the Mafia could run and control all the bootlegging of handguns in Amerika.

this might be the law that woodit is refering to.
