Rhino safe or Liberty safe?

Anone have any comments on Rhino safes? Not the imported Bighorn line, but the ones made in the USA.

I'm trying to decide between a Rhino or a Liberty Fatboy. Both would be relatively the same price delivered. The Rhino has the advantage of having a 2.5 hour fire rating, but would be coming from Costco. The Liberty would be bought from a local dealer, but it only has a 60 minute fire rating.

Any thoughts?

hour rate

make sure you are comparing apples to apples.
Some safe companies "rig" the test to up their time rating.
They increase the allowed inside temp and decrease the outside temp.
Fire rating is based on amount of "sheet rock" inside the safe.
If they are the same gauge material and the same weight then they will have a close fire rating. If the difference is large look at the test parameters.

The Rhino weighs over 200 lb. more than the Liberty and has a stepped double seal door, so I don't think it's just a test parameters difference...but you do make a very valid point.

I think the Rhino would be a step above the Liberty in build quality.

I doubt you would get 2.5 hours of protection from the sheet rock insulation.

I doubt I would either, but I think an honest hour of protection from a house fire would be sufficient to protect my stuff.
