Rexio?

Last week, I bought FirstInLine a new vacuum sweeper, even though she said not to until tho old one broke down (AGAIN.) She came home from work last night and told me she had bought me a 22 revolver. I don't know much about it, as I've not seen it yet. I tried a cursory net search and haven't found much there, either. So, any info would be appreciated.

REXIO, .22LR, 9 round, double action, 6"? bbl. Argentine, we think.

Thanks

Little help, not much, I'll piece this together:

Three important private producers still in existence are Bersa, Rexio and Mahely. All three operate
out of Buenos Aires province and produce a range of products for civilian and military markets, both
domestic and international.

From the very own TFL: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/search.php?searchid=424590

Other then that, most of the websites and such are not of the english language and my ability to read them (and understand them) correctly is fading :(.

Thanks, USP. I went into some of those Argentine sites and applied my best schoolbus driver Spanish. Didn't help one bit. :D

We will find out after a bit just what it is. FirstInLine says it looks just like a Smith. Then again, she doesn't have a Smith and has probably shot one only a couple of times.

Isn't this the same manufacturer that is selling revolvers now called Comanchee? I've seen these in a couple shops here and they are Argentine. They seem stout and are reasonably priced. Take it out, shoot a brick through it and give us a range report. But if you try to make any wild claims about your marksmanship, you'd better back it up with pictures :D

I'm going to be shooting it quite a bit this summer. A friend/client wants me to teach him point shooting. As I haven't shot 3-balloon competition for about 40 years, I KNOW I'd better use .22 so I can afford the 9,999,999 rounds it's going to take to get back on the point. :D I'll let you know.

AFAIK, Rexio is now selling the Comanche brand of revolvers ... called up their US distributor (SGS??, they also import Bersa & Llama) and they said that the Comanches are made from an alloy. No details were given though.

That said, many bash Rexios/ Comanches but my thinking is that for the price, they are worth a try, especially with the low-powered 22LR cartridge.

I bot a Rexio at a gun show some years back for $147.00 mine has a 4" barrel is 9 shot blue finish. There was an article in some gun mag. calling it the best buy in .22 wheel guns.I've shot it a lot and totally agree with the article for the money they're a great gun. Max W.

I got the piece and have looked at it some. It appears to be a S&W clone. It does not appear to be pot metal, but actual steel. Grips are not describable here, as such language would get me on the wrong list. I hve some black walnut which will carve nicely, but that will take awhile. I'll get pictures soon. I hope to get out with a brick this w/e, but have two union classes Saturday and sumpin'r'other is going on Sunday.:D
