Revolver stock interchageability?

Between manufacturers that is...

I a buddy of mine who owns mostly Uberti sixguns brought over some of his and started to compare them with mine.

I had fitted the stock that I picked up this weekend onto my Pietta 1860 and it works just fine. However, it would not fit his 1860 Uberti.

Does anyone currently import Uberti stocks? Or just a bit more work on the Pietta stock all that is needed?

Also, is there a stock for Remington pattern revolvers?

The wood grip panels sometimes well not interchange between the same manufacturer. Almost never between different manufacturers.

DGW has replacement grip panels that come over size, you sand to fit.

I've purchased polymer grips from Tombstone Gun Grips. They're a bit oversize, like the DGW grips, so they require some sanding, but it's an easy job and the end result looks pretty good. If you're into the ivory or pearl handle type grip, it's the bees' knees.

Ah ha! Yes, that makes a difference.

What is not fitting?

I have a Uberti 1860 shoulder stock and it fits my Centaure and 2nd gens OK. Even if the revolver frame does not have the fourth screw. As near as I can tell, the fourth screw is just to keep the inside of the shoulder stock from rubbing on the back of the grip frame.

The 51 Colt has a shorter grip frame and uses a different shoulder stock. The Dragoon and Walker has a wider frame and needs a stock that is wider.
